#Gannicus spartacus series
This is not a series for everyone and many people will find a lot in it offensive. As the series develops, the story follows the betrayals and machinations of Roman life and a tale of one man's heroic quest for vengeance. Spartacus is purchased by Batiatus for gladiator training, who promises to help him find Sura if he proves himself in training. He becomes a favorite of the crowd, leading Senator Albinius to commute his death sentence to a life of slavery. Spartacus, however, proves to be a formidable gladiator, and defeats the four gladiators tasked with executing him. Captured by Glaber, Spartacus is condemned to death as a Gladiator, whilst his wife Sura is condemned to slavery. However after Glaber reneges on the deal and switches his attentions from the Getae to attack Mithridates in Asia Minor, the Thracians feel betrayed and mutiny. The Thracians had been persuaded by Claudius Glaber to serve as auxiliaries in the Roman legions in a campaign against the Getae, who had often plundered Thracian lands. Which is a lot more impressive than gannicus dancing around some trash gladiators. The inspiration behind this series is the Thracian Gladiator Spartacus, who led a slave uprising against the Roman Republic. Fancy that.īy the end of the series I would barely hesitate to say Spartacus might have been theokoles level, as we see him kill hordes of experienced Roman legionares several times by himself. Oenemaus got injured both times he fought the Egyptian, gannicus was almost killed, Spartacus took him down instantly. We all know crixus is below prime Spartacus so that's not even an argument here. So you can't use that as a measure of his skill.Īnd lastly, oenemaus beat scrub Spartacus. If you don't believe me check the motion comic. I'm not saying oenemaus wasn't a champion in his time, I'm saying he didn't go on even with theokoles. He was so angry because theokoles let him live. Kind of a three point five, but oenemaus needed help against theokoles. He improved significantly and it showed since instead of struggling he was killing so many opponents instantly that people in capua were cracking jokes about it. I can't even believe I have to say this, but the guy that got his ass beat several times at the start of the series is not the same guy after he took down theokoles. We never saw him face off against prime oenemaus, theokoles, a motivated Spartacus, etc. Those were not impressive opponents, besides the Gaul anyway. We saw PRIME gannicus in a fight with a bunch of non champion level opponents. He probably just thought he needed a little fear or something to give the map back. Spartacus knew gannicus had some kind of honor just since he hadn't revealed their location. Gannicus is better than oenemaus, who beat up both crixus and Spartacus.įirst, honestly it didn't seem like either of them were trying for an instant kill. Spartacus lost a few times, and needed help with theokoles Gannicus and Spartacus went on even during that one episode The arguments people usually use to say gannicus is better than Spartacus are: Yes, Gannicus could not beat the egyptian as much as Spartacus did with ease, but still. Of course this does not mean Gannicus never trained seriously, but you know what I mean.Ĭonsidering all of this, the question comes into mind if Gannicus could overpower Spartacus if both were equally trained, equal in terms of the timeframe in which they did. Gannicus himself also never trained seriously and took everything in a sarcastic way mostly, while Spartacus trained seriously. Spartacus had much more training while Gannicus did not have as much when they foguth, yet they still seemed equal. Now, if we take the time since Spartacus left the Ludus of Batiatus, it is not as long as Ganncius having left the Ludus. So since the time he left and met Spartacus, Gannicus did not train as much as Spartacus did in the Ludus.

We saw a fight between Gannicus and Spartacus, but we have to take the fact that Ganncius had already left being a gladiator and training everyday since a long time before Spartacus came in. With the spear, spartacus overpowers Gannicus, as Gannicus himself stated. Gannicus is as skilled as Spartacus if we take the Dimachaerus Fighting style only.
